Reverend David Wilkerson, founder of Teen Challenge, World Challenge Ministries and Times Square Church in New York, and author of The Cross and the Switchblade, was killed suddenly in a tragic car accident in Tyler, Texas, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. The official memorial service for Wilkerson has been finalized and will be held at Times Square Church in Manhattan, New York City, on Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend the service. There will be overflow locations once full capacity has been reached inside the church.
The service will also be streamed live worldwide beginning at 2 p.m. (20:00 CET) on the Times Square Church’s website at http://www.tscnyc.org/live_events.php.
A simultaneous translation of the service will be available in 10 different languages via conference call lines. The conference call phone number and access codes for each language will be also posted on the church’s live stream page.
According to Carter Conlon, senior pastor of Times Square Church, the Wilkerson family has requested a private family funeral in Texas.
Wilkerson’s wife, Gwen, who was injured in the accident, is still in the hospital under observation and expected to recover.
