Some of us in Luxembourg speak many languages, some of us struggle to speak just one, but one thing we have in common is that how we use language has a huge influence on our interactions with other people. The questions we ask can be key to giving people the space to open up, and this opening up can build stronger links and relationships.
On 16 March everyone is invited to a seminar on how to improve our communication with others. We will be looking at verbal techniques and psychology that we can use to help people to feel more comfortable to be themselves and share. In many cases, this relates to how we ask questions.
The idea is not to sit down and listen to a 3-hour lecture. Instead, the format will be based on using our own experiences in various situations and drawing principles out of that to shape ways that we can positively influence future interactions. There will be structured exercises to practise with other seminar participants in order to help cement the learning.
